Speaking

Speaker reel

SPEAKING / MODERATING

As a journalist and technology commentator, I’m sometimes asked to speak at various events. I’ve been told I have an entertaining, witty delivery, which gets a crowd interested and intrigued in a range of topics around technology, tech entrepreneurship, and the future. As a moderator I have interviewed Kevin Spacey as well as the world’s top business leaders at Davos. In addition I’m a regular MC at the Pitch@Palace events created by the Duke of York.

Speaker Remuneration
For commercial conferences and events unrelated to my work for TechCrunch I expect all transportation (flight & airport transfers), accommodation and subsistence costs to be handled by the event. Departures must usually be from London Heathrow Airport. Because of the high volume of requests I get to speak, I only seriously consider events where I am remunerated for my time (i.e. there is a speaker fee). I will happily contribute ‘pro bono’ to charitable or non-profit events on a case-by-case basis, depending on my schedule.

What you can expect:
• A personal phone consultation to assess the audience and topic.
• An announcement on my private blog and social media channels.
• A solid, entertaining presentation
• A follow up communication after the event to give feedback
I cannot – in any way – offer a promise of coverage for your event on the news sites for which I write.

Examples of what I can be hired to do:
• Conference speaking
• Comparing / MC’ing
• Interviewing on stage
• Facilitating group discussions
• Or please contact me to discuss the format
